Recently we had visitors from Denmark, an AFS student who lived with us and attended Polk Central High School during the 1981-1982 school year. This time he brought his wife and two daughters.

My wife and I were trying to think of something that was made or manufactured in Polk County that they could carry back home. We remembered that we have in Polk County, a manufacturing company by the name of Pure Country. This company manufactures throws with a portrait on it.

I called Mr. George Clark and asked him about it. He asked me how much time he had, for this was on a Thursday and the visitors were coming in on Friday and leaving on Monday morning. He told me if I could get him a photo of the family, he could get it to me the same day.

It was 1 p.m. on Friday before I got the photo to them, thinking there was no way this could be done. To the delight of our visitors Mr. Clark and his people did exactly what he promised and came through with a throw with their photo on it.

Many companies brag about their customer service, but Pure Country sets the mark that all companies should strive for. Thank you George, Ann, Rebecca and the folks at Pure Country. We’re proud to have you’re company in Polk County. God Bless.
