On Friday, July 29, Tryon Arts & Crafts School invited students to take part in a glazing party at its pottery studio, to start glazing the over 400 bowls that have been made in support of Thermal Belt Outreach Ministry’s Empty Bowls fundraising event on Sept. 24 at Parker-Binns Winery.

The school will be donating the bowls for the September event, which will raise funds to stock Outreach’s food pantry and will bring awareness to the plight of local residents struggling with hunger.

At the September event, guests will be able to sample soup prepared by some of the area’s best local chefs/restaurants, sip wine, enjoy music and entertainment and share in the fellowship of like-minded community members.

Each ticket lets a guest choose their own handcrafted bowl to take home as a symbolic representation of those who struggle with hunger and face empty bowls at mealtime. Tryon Arts and Crafts School is proud to be a supporter of this great cause.
