Sergeant Allen McEntrye, Ansley Roberts and Ellen Beatty tapped into the minds of area young people at the Summer Fun Days Camp being held this summer to educate and enrich the lives of area youth.

Sgt. McEntyre, a Polk County native and a police officer with the Rutherfordton Police Department, spoke to camp attendees on numerous subject matters. The main topics focused on bullying, and what to do and not to do during traffic stops.

Ansley Roberts and Ellen Beatty, from the Office of Agricultural Economic Development and AmeriCorps Project Conserve, engaged the young people in a conversation on cows, milk, and the process of milk. Ansley and Ellen wrapped up their session by leading the campers through the hands-on and fun process of making ice cream in a bag.
