Polk County High School’s rising sophomore, Jake Justice, rolled through the field of boys pole vault competitors Saturday, July 2 at the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) Regional Qualifier Track & Field Meet at Olympic High School in Charlotte. Justice, competing in the 15-16 year old division was the top vaulter of the day clearing a height of 12’0”.

Andy Woehr of High Point finished second behind Justice and Dawson Grant of T.W. Andrews won the 17-18 year old division with a vault of 11’6”. The top six finishers in each running event and the top five finishers in each field event advance to the Junior Olympic National Championships at Humble High School in Houston, Texas July 30 – Aug. 6.

Justice, son of Mark and Jessica Justice of Saluda, finished third overall for the Wolverines at the 2016 NCHSAA 2A State Championships in May.
