Edgar P. Weeks

Edgar P. Weeks of Tryon, N.C. passed away June 25, 2016 after a brief illness and stay in Hospice House of Carolina Foothills. Ed was 101 years old.
Son of the late Ralph J. Weeks and Mabel G. Daniels, Ed was born January 25, 1915 in Kingstown, Rhode Island. Ed was preceeded by his wife Rita Duga and son Gary.
After serving in the Army during WWII, Ed worked at Hatch Mill from 1952-1964. His business took him to places like Canada, Maine, Massachusetts and Tennessee. He returned to North Carolina to retire. He was an avid outdoorsman favoring activities as hunting, fishing, gardening and golfing. He was known to make his own apple pies and “put up” his own garden vegetables. Ed was active in the Columbus Lions Club.
Edgar is survived by his son, Bruce Weeks, and wife Pat of Demorest, Ga; two grandchildren, Major Michael Weeks USAF of Alexandria, Va. and Jennifer McCreery of Alexandria, Va.; and three great grandchildren, Emerson, Ella, and Cade. Also surviving is a special nephew, Jon James and wife, Dianna of Lyman, S.C.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Hospice House of Carolina Foothills, 260 Fairwinds Road, Landrum, S.C.
