Thomas “Flash” Millwood

Thomas “Flash” Edward Millwood, 67, of Green Creek passed away April 15, 2016 at his home.

Flash was born in Spartanburg, S.C. on Dec. 27, 1948, son of the late Martha Carver Millwood and  Wilbert Yancey Millwood. He is survived by Eva McEntire Callahan of the home, Margaret “Grady” McEntire, his brothers and sisters in The Shop, Spartanburg, S.C. and Virginia.

Flash graduated Dorman High School in 1968, attended Nashville Diesel College then pursued his career as a tire changer with various NASCAR teams from “Back In The Day.” Flash obtained the G Class Points Championship for Motorcycle Drag Racing With HDRA in 1989. He was also a member of The Shop in Spartanburg, S.C.

There will be a gathering of friends Friday, April 22, 2016 from 6-9 at The Shop, 521 New Cut Road, Spartanburg, SC. On Saturday, April 23, 2016 there will be a motorcycle ride escorting “Flash” from The Shop, 521 New Cut Road to Sunset Memorial Gardens at 1955 Cannons Campground Road, Spartanburg, SC for graveside services and burial. Kick stands up at 12 p.m., then graveside service at 1 p.m.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, 130 Forest Glen Drive, Columbus, NC 28722; Mobile Meals, 419 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC  29302; The Shop, 521 New Cut Road, Spartanburg, SC 29301.

Remember, life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming, “Wow, what a ride!”
