Ryan F. Tennant

Ryan F. Tennant, Esq., loyal husband, dedicated father, loving son, philosopher, boat captain, attorney and genuine friend, died on Saturday, April 2, 2016.

Ryan was born on June 7, 1973 in Columbus, N.C. He graduated from Polk County High School and subsequently from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy. Following his graduation from NCSU, he traveled extensively while embarking on a career as a respected boat captain and scuba diver in various locations around the world.

Ryan became a National Park Forest Park Ranger working both in Arizona and North Carolina. Several years later Ryan returned to school at the Charleston School of Law. After graduation he was employed as an attorney with Rountree and Loshee, LLP, located in Wilmington, N.C. Ryan was admitted to the bar in both North and South Carolina.

He is survived by his wife Shannon, daughter Perry, parents Geoffrey and Alice Tennant as well as an aunt, brother, sister in-law, two nieces, nephew and two cousins.

There will be no formal services. Ryan desired that his loving family and dear friends celebrate his life rather than grieve his death. The event will be in June with the date to be announced soon.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Lower Cape Fear Hospice and to all at Rountree Losee LLP for all the care and compassion shown to Ryan and his family. Also, a sincere thank you to all of Ryan’s family and friends for their love and support.
