Residents of the Town of Columbus are invited next week to clean out their homes and the town will come around and pick up items for disposal.

Columbus Town Council met March 17 and announced its annual spring clean up will be the week of April 4-8.

Residents are invited to place items at the edge of their property and the town will come by and collect the items.

The town planned to advertise the spring clean up on its website at www.columbusnc.com, on its water bills as well as doing an all-call to in city limit residents.

Items can include anything residents want to get rid of, including old televisions, old couches, washers and dryers, etc.

The town cannot pick up fuel, paint, batteries, motors and motor oils.
