Dr. John Stephen Freeborn of Columbus, N.C. died on March 27, 2016 from illness and complications of Parkinson’s disease. He was surrounded by his family. He was 69.

Dr. Freeborn is survived by his wife Christine Freeborn of Zirconia, N.C.; his daughter and son-in-law Kate and Steve Beherns of Anderson, S.C.; his daughter Meg of Greenville, S.C.; his daughter and son-in-law Alex and Kevin Bitner of Charlotte, N.C.; his sister Betty Bollman of Las Vegas, Nev.; and four grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents Stan and Melva Freeborn.

A memorial will take place on April 3 at 2 p.m. at Tryon Estates. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Dr. Freeborn’s life. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the National Parkinson Foundation.
