Polk County District Court results for March 16

In Polk County District Court on March 16, 2016, with Judge Emily G. Cowan presiding, 84 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court.

The following persons were convicted of a crime:

Christopher C. Carroll was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Carroll was fined $40 and court costs.

Blade C. Frierson was convicted of reckless driving-wanton disregard. Frierson was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, $1,000 fine and court costs.

Laura Jean Novak was convicted of failure to stop at a stop sign/flashing red light. Novak was fined $25 and court costs.

Ronnie Ray Powell was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Powell was fined $40 and court costs.

Edward James Riddle was convicted of first-degree trespass. Riddle was sentenced to 16 days in jail with credit for time served.

Alan Taylor was convicted of speeding 74 mph in a 65 mph zone. Taylor was fined $30 and court costs.

Susanne S. Traver was convicted of driving while license revoked-impaired revocation. Traver was fined $100 and court costs.

Preston J. Wilkins was convicted of failure to appear on misdemeanor. Wilkins was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, a $75 fine and court costs.

Kendall D. Williams was convicted of possession of marijuana up to ½ ounce. Williams was fined $50 and court costs.
