On Wednesday, March 16, at 1 p.m., Pam Torlina will present a program to the Tryon Garden Club on the Pacolet Area Conservancy’s effort to locate rare and unique plants in Polk County. The public is invited to attend.

 

Pam Torlina, director of stewardship and land protection at the Pacolet Area Conservancy, will highlight rare species and the characteristics that allow these plants to grow in Polk County, well outside their range.

Torlina, a biologist, has worked with PAC for nine years. She has 20 years experience as a field biologist, naturalist, and outdoor educator for both children and adults. She has worked for the South Carolina State Park Service, the City of Greenville Parks and Recreation, The New York State Office of Parks and Recreation and Historic Preservation, and the Haliburton Forest and Wildlife Reserve in Haliburton, Canada.
