Thomas Eric Pack of Columbus Township passed away Monday, March 7, 2016.

Tom was a loving husband and father who is survived by his wife Lisa Moore Pack and two sons, Eric and Timothy; his sister and brother Linda Burkett and Michael Pack; and father Frank Pack. His mother Dorothy preceded his death.

He was motivated by his love for the Lord, his family and his Country. He balanced his personal life with his strong religious beliefs and his commitment to serving his community. He was a native of Polk County where he most recently served as Chair for the Polk County Board of Commissioners and Polk County Rescue Squad Board of Directors.

Tom along with his father Frank, sister Linda and brother Michael built White Oak Carpets together. Later Tom served as its President of Manufacturing. He was the former plant manager of Mohawk Industries in Landrum. He was a one-of-a-kind trailblazer and visionary who made an indelible mark on the carpet industry and on the lives of the many colleagues he inspired and influenced. Tom was treasured by his family and friends he loved and enjoyed, and customers who benefited from his innovations.

A funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 12, 2016 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel, Tryon, N.C. with Rev. Gary Curtis officiating.

The family will receive friends Friday, March 11, 2016 from 6 – 8 p.m. in the McFarland Funeral Chapel.

Burial will be private.
