George Calhoun Truluck

George Calhoun Truluck, 31, of Brooklyn, N.Y. passed away at Carolinas Hospital Systems in Florence, S.C. on Saturday, March 5, 2016 after a brief illness. He was a gifted musician and artist, a concert flutist and jewelry designer. Calhoun attended Lake City, S.C. public schools, then the Governor’s School for the Arts & Humanities in Greenville, S.C. He subsequently graduated from the Interlochen Academy in Traverse City, Mich. He attended Rutgers University in New Jersey and The Mannes School of Music in New York.

Calhoun was the beloved son of Dr. and Mrs. James Paul Truluck (Nicki Calhoun) of Lake City, S.C. In addition to his parents, he is survived by brothers, Stephen Spratt (Kelly) of Orlando, Fla. and Dr. Bowen Truluck (Joan) of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; a sister, Catherine Truluck Schellenberg (Tom) of Jacksonville, Fla.; and many much loved cousins, nieces and nephews; two aunts, Margaret Calhoun Moses (Edward) of Fairfax Station, Va., and Julia Calhoun of Tryon, N.C.; and an uncle, Patrick Calhoun (Wanda) of Columbia, S.C.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at Lake City Presbyterian Church, conducted by Brockington Funeral Home of Lake City, S.C.
