Wylma Louise Guilfoil

Wylma Louise Guilfoil, 98, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2016 at Tryon Estates in Columbus, N.C.

She was the daughter of the late Elbert Scott Collins and Anna Mae Reed Collins. She was a courageous woman of wisdom and began her career as an economics expert under Betty Crocker and later obtained her master’s degree in library science. Wylma enjoyed spending her time playing golf and watching baseball and reading.  She was a member of Tryon Congregational Church and was a strong example of a woman of virtue for many.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband William Guilfoil, Sr. in 2008 and a brother Glen Collins.

Surviving are two sons, William Guilfoil, Jr. (Judith) of Gainesville, Ga., and Scott Guilfoil (Patricia) of Inverness, Ill.; three grandchildren, Shannon (Andres), Jessica (Michael), and Meghan Louise; and twelve great grandchildren, Luke, Kate, Will, Matt, Joe, Jude, Mia, Joshua, Mac, Addie, Liam and Emily.

Interment will be held at a later date in Hilton Head, S.C.
