Singing for the Soldiers this Friday

Once again Sunny View Elementary School will be the place of a special winter event to show support for America’s troops serving overseas. The annual Singing for the Soldiers event will take place Friday, Feb. 5 at 7 p.m. at the Sunny View Elementary School.


A special speaker, Adam Palmer, an Iraq war decorated soldier, will share his story and his current work with soldiers here at home.

For admission, attendees are asked to bring items such as snacks, toiletries, stationery and white socks to send to our troops overseas. Any size monetary donation is also accepted to help cover shipping costs.

Music will be provided by Mike Upright, a nationally known southern gospel artist, and The Principles, a bluegrass gospel group from Tennessee, who have had many top gospel songs and award nominations. Also two local groups, Joyful Noise from Sunny View and Colt’s Creek from Saluda will perform.
