Jane West Gilbert, 75, of Columbus, N.C. passed away Monday, Jan. 25, 2016 at her residence.

Born in Polk County, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Addie Case West. Jane was loving wife to the late Irland Gilbert who died in 1995. She was a lifelong resident of Polk County and a member of Faith Baptist Church. Jane retired from St. Luke’s Hospital after twenty plus years of devoted nursing. She was a pianist and enjoyed the Meeting Place.

Jane is survived by her three sons: James Roy Holt (Paula) of Cliffside, John Glenn Holt (Martha), and Jay Robert Holt (Mitzi) all of Columbus; daughter, Dottie Presley of Columbus; nine grandchildren, Michael, Brandon, Tiffany, Jessica, Hunter, Monica, Leslie, James and Nicole; and eight great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016 at McFarland Funeral Chapel, Tryon, N.C. with Reverend John Edwards and Reverend Hubert Street officiating.

Family will receive friends from 7 – 8:30 p.m. Friday evening, Jan. 29, 2016 at the funeral home.

Burial will follow in the Polk Memorial Gardens.

At other times, the family will be at the home.
