LYRIC, one of western North Carolina’s hottest bands, brings their unique fusion of funk, soul and R&B to Tryon Fine Arts Theater’s Peterson Amphitheater on Sunday, Nov. 1 at 3 p.m. This free concert is made possible by the Polk County Community Foundation’s Community Matters free event grant. LYRIC is led by standout vocalist and guitarist Leeda Lyric Jones. Following the concert, free supper will be served for attendees.
LYRIC’s founder, guitarist and lead singer, Leeda Lyric Jones was first recognized while busking on the streets of Asheville back in 2009. Ali Marshall of Mountain Express says, “Though downtown Asheville’s streets are full of buskers, especially on a warm night, a standout act does just that, stands out. That’s the story with Leeda Jones, a.k.a. Lyric.”
LYRIC is on the rise, playing the Asheville club scene and regional music festivals including Belle Chere and Montford Avenue. Leeda Lyric Jones has been impressing people for years and is now taking her band to the heights.
“A friend of mine told me about this young lady he had heard playing music on the streets of Asheville. He told me very little, only that I needed to hear her sing. Well, I finally was treated with her singing a few songs. It didn’t take but a few seconds to see and feel the talent pour from Lyric. Not really sure which was better, her lovely smile or her beautiful voice. This young lady sings like a mountain song bird and has the personality to match. Lyric is the total package. Get ready Asheville, you have another STAR in your midst,” says Vinny Savage of HypeNC.com.
Come join friends and neighbors on Sunday, Nov. 1 at 3 p.m. as TFAC closes out the fall 2015 amphitheater season with the Asheville’s LYRIC. For more information, call the box office 828-859-3822 or visit us online at tryonarts.org.
