Team presented with state championship rings

Polk County School Board Chairman Geoff Tennant presented PCHS Outdoor Track State Champion Jacob Wolfe with his state ring. Wolfe and teammates Sean Doyle, Nate Smart and Caleb Brown won the NCHSAA 2A State Championship in the Men's 4x800 Meter Relay on May 16.

Polk County School Board Chairman Geoff Tennant presented PCHS Outdoor Track State Champion Jacob Wolfe with his state ring. Wolfe and teammates Sean Doyle, Nate Smart and Caleb Brown won the NCHSAA 2A State Championship in the Men’s 4×800 Meter Relay on May 16.

The Polk County Board of Education presented Polk County High School’s 3,200 Meter Relay Team with state championship rings at its Sept. 14 meeting. Sean Doyle and Jacob Wolfe along with Caleb Brown and Nate Smart set a new school record of 8:03.06 at the NCHSAA Outdoor Track State Championships held at NCA&T University on May 16. With that mark, the squad became Polk’s first to qualify for Outdoor Track Nationals.

The team competed in the New Balance Outdoor Track Nationals in Greensboro, N.C. on June 19.

Caleb Brown was sworn in to the United States Marine Corps and was on his way to boot camp and Nate Smart was playing in a soccer game at PCHS at the time of Monday nights meeting.
