How we can avoid more transmission lines

To the Editor:
Everyone is talking about the Duke Energy transmission line project. No one is talking about how we can avoid more transmission lines!
If foothills residents and some businesses install hot water solar panels, our power usage will decrease by up to 30 percent. Duke is planning for a 15 percent increase this time around, but what about next time? The hot water system pays for itself through federal and state tax credits, and savings on power bills. The systems are maintenance free. New buildings and residences should be required to have a solar hot water system. Hot water is, typically, the largest percentage of a power bill for residential properties.
I am not affiliated with any solar energy companies, but anyone who would like to ask questions about my solar hot water and other solar installations can email me at musicinlandrum@gmail.com.
By the way – my power bill is $30-$50, even in the hottest summer months!
