The Polk County Recreation Department plans two new summer programs for an adult basketball league and youth tennis lessons.

The summer basketball league is for age 30 and up with each team having the option of two players between the ages of 18 and 30. Groups must register as a team between five and 12 players. Individuals can contact the recreation department, which will make every effort to assign individuals to a team.

Registration for the league has already begun and will continue through June 30. There is a fee to register a team, with costs paying for a 10-game regular season, a post-season tournament, shirts for team members, championship shirts for the winning team and a team trophy for first and second place teams.
