On March 24, eight students participated in a recital for Tryon Estates residents. The recital was well attended and many parents and relatives were present. All students are from Polk County High School, Landrum High School, or the Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy.

Al Hart, president of the Laurel Lake Music Society, presented them with certificates, photos, and DVD recordings, confirming their award of a fully paid three-week music workshop at the Cannon Music Camp at Appalachian State University. This award covers their tuition, room and board for the acclaimed School of Music in Boone, N.C. during June and July of 2015. The students were selected based on their excellence in performing during an audition conducted on Jan 17. The awards are made possible by the donations of Tryon Estates residents.
