Don Cobb, of Lake Adger in Polk County, age 72, loving husband, father and friend passed away to be with God peacefully at his beloved home on Lake Adger on March 3, 2015.

Born in Columbus, Ga., he was the son of the late Lloyd and Glenda Cobb. He was a graduate of Warren Wilson College in Asheville, a private pilot and retired from Con-Way Freight Company as a senior account manager, with 30 years of service working in Lakeland, Fla., Atlanta, Ga. and Spartanburg, S.C. He attended Midway Baptist Church in Columbus, N.C.

He spent his retirement years doing volunteer work at Second Chance Thrift Store, support for domestic violence and Thermal Belt Outreach Food Bank.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 51 years, Carolyn Youngblood Cobb; son Christopher Cobb; and his loving pet dog, Boy.

A celebration of his life will be held at Midway Baptist Church, Hwy. 108 in Columbus, N.C. on March 21, 2015 at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Foothills Humane Society, Little Mountain Road, Columbus, N.C., or to Steps To Hope, Columbus, N.C.
