Elizabeth Renee Stoery Heise died Jan. 9, 2015 at Tryon Estates, Columbus, N.C. She was 90 years old on Sept. 22, 2014.
Born in Estherville, Iowa, she was the daughter of Anton and Ember Stoery. She was the widow of A. Jesse Heise who died in 1990, to whom she was married for 43 years.
During Jesse’s career with Ford Motor Company, Elizabeth and Jesse lived in five foreign countries: South Africa, Brazil, Lebanon, Italy and Argentina. They also had many residences in the United States.
She and Jesse retired to Red Fox Country Club and she remained in that home until 2006, when she moved to Greenville, S.C., and later in 2010 to Tryon Estates.
Elizabeth was a wonderful gardener who was known for the beauty and design of her home gardens. She was a member of the Tryon Garden Club and the Jackson Grove United Methodist Church.
Her knowledge, ambition, travels and residences resulted in many extended friendships and memories. She accomplished significant milestones in her life. Her warm smiles and sincere relationships will be remembered by all who knew her.
She is survived by her brother, Thomas of Arroyo Grande, Calif. Also surviving are nieces Andrea Verntas (Austin, Texas), Debbie Stoery (Northbrook, Ill.) and Jodi Kaper (Northbrook, Ill). Surviving nephews include Scott Stoery (Sisters, Ore.) and Jess Stoery (Northbrook, Ill). Many close friends and cousins are also included.
Memorial services will be held at a later date at Tryon Estates, Columbus, N.C. with Reverend Mike Bowers officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Hershey, Neb. where several family members are also buried.
