David Todd Warden II, 73, lost his heroic battle with lung cancer on Sunday, Jan. 18, 2015 at the Hospice

House of the Carolina Foothills surrounded by his family.

David was born at the Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York City in 1941 to Dr. David Warden and
Alice Heard Warden. He attended Friends Academy in Locust Valley, Long Island, N.Y., Phillips
Academy in Andover, Mass. and graduated from Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, Va. in 1964.
He was a decorated U.S.M.C. Veteran, wounded in the Vietnam War with an Honorable Discharge as a
captain in 1967 when he married his Navy nurse, Judy. Dave was a senior executive for Mobil Oil for over
30 years and served 20 years of that time in the Middle East.

David is survived by his wife of 47 years, Judith Helmstetter Warden, sister Missy Warden Guida
(husband, Jim Guida), son, David Todd Warden III (wife, Anna Good Warden), grandsons, Davis Tyler (8)
and Andrew Mason (5). He is predeceased by daughter Katherine Allison Warden, brother, John Sheppard
Warden and grandson, David Logan Warden.

Dave and Judy moved to Landrum in 2001 where they have been involved in community activities such as
FENCE, Foothills Humane Society, Tryon Fine Art’s Center and Tryon Presbyterian Church.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 26, 2015 at Petty Funeral Home. A memorial
service will be Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2015 at Tryon Presbyterian Church at 11 a.m. with a reception to follow
in the fellowship hall.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project in memory of David Warden
