Taylors man killed in Landrum collision

The Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office says one person died after a collision along Clearwater Road in Landrum.

The collision occurred around 6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 19.

The S.C. Highway Patrol said two vehicles were involved in the collision; a 1998 Chevy that struck a 2007 Ford.

The Chevy went left of center and struck the Ford, according to the highway patrol. The Chevy was driven by a 60-year old man from Taylors, S.C., according to the highway patrol. The Ford was driven by a 53-year old woman from Inman, S.C., according to the highway patrol.

The driver of the Chevy was pronounced dead at the scene and was wearing his seat belt, according to the highway patrol. His name has not yet been released.

The driver of the Ford was also wearing her seat belt and was transported to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center for injuries. The condition of the female driver was not known.

The S.C. Highway Patrol and Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office are still investigating the collision.

Clearwater Road meets both Hwy. 14 and Blackstock Road in Landrum.
