Pam Stone to speak to Foothills Parkinson’s Support Group at Landrum Library Nov. 19

The Landrum Library has hosted a monthly meeting of the Foothills Parkinson’s Support Group for several years. This group meets the third Wednesday of each month at the Landrum Library at 1:30 p.m. The meetings offer support, information and training to individuals with Parkinson’s disease, their caregivers, family or loved ones. Anyone with a need is welcome to attend the meetings. The group works closely with support groups in Greenville and Spartanburg to serve individuals in the upstate of South Carolina and Polk County, N.C.
Spartanburg was chosen as one city to host the Parkinson’s disease Southern Symposium this November. The Spartanburg County Libraries choose to be a part of the symposium by offerings displays, programs, and information about the disease. As a part of the symposium, the Foothills support group will host a special event featuring comedian, actress and syndicated columnist Pam Stone. Stone is known for her humor, a recommended therapy for Parkinson’s disease, and will entertain the group at their meeting Wed., Nov. 19 at 1:30 p.m.
