Robert Charles Parkinson was born in Elizabeth, N.J., June 18, 1931 to Dorothy and Granville Parkinson. He was a proud graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School in Elizabeth, N.J., Temple University and NYU.

He married Rose Mary Wnukowski in 1960 and raised two children, Sarah Hope and Robert Christopher in Westfield, N.J. Rose Mary passed away in 1990.

Robert remarried to Sue Akins and eventually relocated to Landrum, S.C. Following his retirement from a career in sales management, he spent much of his time volunteering for Hospice of the Carolina Foothills in Columbus, N.C.

He was preceded in death by both his parents, a brother Joseph, his loving wife and his daughter Sarah Hope.

He is survived by a brother John David, his son Robert Christopher and four grandchildren: Hannah, William, Benjamin and Charlotte Van Why.

He will be interred at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield, N.J. In lieu of flowers his family requests donations be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, 130 Forest Glen Drive, Columbus, N.C. 28722 or Integrity House, 103 Lincoln Park, Newark, N.J. 07102.

Arrangements were by the Dooley Colonial Home, Westfield, N.J.
