Loud Pants Open Golf Tournament to support Polk Wellness Center

The Links of Tryon will host the first annual Loud Pants Golf Tournament, Sept. 13, 2014. Three hole-in-one prizes (2 automobiles and a Caribbean vacation for two) will be awarded along with a prize for the flashiest golf pants. Other contests include putting, longest drive and closest to the keg.
Tournament organizers Brenda Drake and Mike Ashworth say “Tee it up for charity.”
The entry fee includes lunch, drinks, cocktail hour, gourmet dinner, awards banquet and dancing under the stars to Special Edition and numerous prizes, along with a live auction with Bill Jones of Lake Lanier.
Pasquale Giordano has accepted the ice bucket challenge from Brenda Drake. Giordano is encouraging all participating golfers to take the ice bucket challenge too. This participation will follow golf and be video taped.
Tryon Mayor Jim Wright has accepted Brenda Drakes ice bucket challenge to be held Tuesday September 9 at 1 p.m. in front of the Mary & Morris shop on Depot St. in Tryon.
Event schedule: 9 a.m.: Tee off, 11:30 a.m.: lunch, 2:30 p.m.: cocktails, 4 p.m.: gourmet dinner, 4:30 p.m.: awards banquet and live auction, 5:10 p.m.: music and dancing.
Come for band and dancing – charity donation at the door.
Drake emphasizes that this first Inaugural Loud Pants Golf Tournament is about bringing businesses together for a great cause; golf, art, equestrian, hospitality, gourmet foods or adventure sports. “It’s about helping one another as neighbors. All of us working together as people, helping one another. Supporting a local charity that we all need. Let’s make the event a success for Polk Wellness Center.”
