Hannah Tafoya is completing her last year as a New Century Scholar at Polk County High School.
She has been in the program sponsored by Isothermal Community College Foundation (Polk County Campus).  The program pledges to mentor students (chosen as seventh graders) through high school graduation.
If a scholar has maintained good school attendance, grades and citizenship, remained drug and alcohol-free, and performed volunteer service hours, the program guarantees her a tuition-free, two-year education at Isothermal Community College.
Hannah has been a New Century Scholar for six years.
