Louise Pack Collins Henson, 84, passed away Saturday, May 24, 2014 in the Hospice House of the Carolina Foothills, Landrum, S.C.
Born in Polk Co., N.C., she was the daughter of the late William and Margaret Melton Pack. She was first married to Lee Collins who died in 1986 and was the widow of John Earl Henson who died in 2007. A graduate of Mill Spring High School, she was a longtime nurse who trained in Greenville, S.C. and the VA Hospital in Asheville, N.C. later retiring as the Director of Nursing at St. Luke’s Hospital, Columbus, N.C. She was a member of the Tryon Methodist Church and loved Hogback Mountain, farming, animals and her children.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 29, 2014 in Polk Memorial Gardens, Columbus, N.C. with Chaplain Kelly Belcher officiating.
Survivors include her sons, Charlie Fisher (Gloria) of Mill Spring, N.C.; and Jeff Collins (Julie) of Landrum, S.C.; daughters, Joni L. Fisher (Roger) of Inman, S.C.; and Jene Culbreth (Dale) of Inman, S.C. Also surviving is her brother, Roy Pack of Tryon, N.C. as well as 2 grandchildren, Kevin and Chad Fisher. She was predeceased by her parents and eight brothers and sisters.
