It is with mixed emotions that Tryon Fine Arts Center advises the foothills community that our celebrated Executive Director, Beth Child, is leaving our organization to continue her career as a professional pianist and teacher. This fall Beth will be opening a music studio to teach piano to intermediate and advanced students in the area. Beth has been the TFAC Executive Director for nearly five years.
During this time, she has led TFAC through its exciting transition in becoming a vibrant performing and visual arts center with a strong focus on arts education.
The list of Beth’s accomplishments at TFAC is remarkable and includes our Main Stage performance series, construction of the Peterson Amphitheater, the expansion of Arts in Education programs and strong leadership in fundraising campaigns.
Her artistic career is also impressive.  Beth is a graduate of Converse College, with a Masters from the University of Michigan and a Doctorate from the Juilliard School of Music. Dr. Child has performed in well known venues across the country including two performances in Carnegie Recital Hall.
We are saddened to lose such a dedicated and talented leader, but are pleased to know she is following her dream of serving the community through her talents as performer and teacher. Please join the entire Board of Directors and staff in wishing her great success.

Sincerely,
Tim Brannon, President, Tryon Fine Arts Center
