Eighth-graders at Polk County Middle school enjoyed a day of world travel on Nov. 26.

With passports in hand, students traveled to eight countries to explore the food, dress, traditions and economics of those countries. Students sampled cookies from Germany and Switzerland, language and culture in China, and the sites and sounds of Egypt, Italy, France, Japan and Ireland.
This event is done annually by the eighth grade teams to engage students in how we are connected to global economies and societies.
