This year’s Polk County Toy Run raised the most money ever for area children’s Christmas presents. The Toy Run on Saturday, Nov. 30, saw 485 motorcycles participate with 59 bags of toys collected and $11,400 collected. The money was divided equally in $2,850 checks to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, Thermal Belt Outreach Ministry, the Polk County Department of Social Services (DSS) and Steps to HOPE, who distribute toys to children this month.
