The stable roof at Harmon Field blew off Wednesday, Nov. 27 just after noon during high winds in the area.

According to Tryon officials, witnesses said it appeared as if the roof came off as one piece, spun around, then blew across the field.

Tryon Fire Department and public works crews responded and secured what pieces of the roof could be secured.

The town has contacted its insurance company and is working to remove the debris. (photo submitted by David Widdicombe)
