Unitarian Universalist Fellowship to discuss gratitude, Nov. 24
Published 6:44 pm Wednesday, November 20, 2013
The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship will meet at the Tryon Youth Center on Rt. 176N at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 24.
The speaker will be consulting minister, the Reverend Sally Beth Shore who will speak on the topic “Thanksgiving: Cultivating the Attitude of Gratitude.”
“It can be a real challenge to be grateful, especially in the face of calamity, loss, or adversity. And really should we even try? Probably we should, both for our own sakes and for those we love.”
There will be some strategizing about this, and then conclude by breaking cornbread and sharing grape juice together.
Members can extend their sharing to the larger community by bringing food and donations for Thermal Belt Outreach Ministry’s food pantry.
Come early for fellowship and refreshments. For information call 828-894-5776 or visit uutryonnc.org to find the latest newsletter.
