Edward W. Halford, 82, of Tryon passed away Nov. 4, 2013.  He was the son of the late Calloway L. and Maude Cochran Halford and husband of Nellie Brown Halford.
He was a member of Grace Baptist Church and retired from NC DOT.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Sandra Reid (Kenneth) of Columbus, Wayne Halford (Martha) of Columbus, Calvin Halford (Anitra) of Columbus, Kim Searcy (Ricky) of Mill Spring and Darlene Forrester of Campobello, S.C.; a brother Clyde Halford of Columbus; grandchildren, Travis Reid (Sarah), Joshua Halford (Amber), Christopher Halford, Chandler Stanfield, Samantha Searcy, Kensley Stanfield, Skylar Searcy, Jodi Stanfield, Cora Robinson and LeighAnne Fowler.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Candy Stanfield and son-in-law Don Stanfield; sons, Marshall and James Halford; brother, Jonas Halford; and sisters, Pauline Dutton, Margaret Dowdy and Jeanette Carswell.
The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013 at Grace Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at the church conducted by Rev. Nick Vance and Rev. Ron Caple. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens.
The family is at the home, 3200 Peniel Road, Tryon.
