Peggy Joyner Sibley

Peggy Joyner Sibley, 77, passed away quietly at White Oak Manor on August 17, 2013 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.

She was the daughter of the late Alfred Troy and Vida G. Dunning Joyner of Rich Square, N.C. and the wife of S. Dan Sibley of the home.

After graduating from Meredith College in Raleigh, N.C. she and Dan were married and she taught school until starting to raise a family.

Peggy was very active, she enjoyed sports, quilting, knitting, needle work and homemaking. She and Dan spent many years in Burlington, N.C. and moved to Tryon in 1999.

Peggy became active in the Congregational Church and sang with the Caroline’s.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, Scott Sibley of Lakeville, Minn., Phil Sibley (Gina) of Macon, Ga. and Matt Sibley (Kerri) of Delray Beach, Fla. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Josh, Shelley, Sloan, McKenna and Griffin. She is also survived by one brother, Troy Joyner (Diane) of Suffolk, Va.

Memorial services will be held in early October.
