Ethel Berry Reece, 82, of Tryon was reunited with her husband, family and friends before the Lord in His heavenly kingdom Saturday morning, July 27, 2013 at Autumn Care of Saluda.
Born in Newberry, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Marvin and Lena Belle Blair Berry. She was the wife of the late Rev. Bob Reece who died in 1997.
She was a devoted minister’s wife for 42 years and a member of the Upper South Carolina Pentecostal Holiness Association. She attended Tryon and Landrum Pentecostal Holiness Church. Mrs. Reece was a substitute teacher and parapro in secondary education at various schools. She was a member of the Autumn Care Red Hatters. She was a dedicated wife, mother and the best grandmother a grandson could ever have.
Survivors include two daughters, Debby Covil (Rick) of Lynn and Sheila Hodges (Mark) of Manson, Wash.; two brothers, Herman Berry of Columbia, S.C. and Bobby Berry (Joyce) of Ada, Okla.; four grandsons, Matthew Covil of Lynn, Justin Covil of Lincolnton, N.C., Cameron Hodges of Seattle, Wash. and Colton Hodges of Spokane, Wash.
The family received friends Sunday evening, July 28, 2013 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel.
Funeral Services were held Monday, July 29, 2013 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel, Tryon, with Rev. Ron Moore officiating.
Burial was in Polk Memorial Gardens, Columbus.
