The Tryon Running Club (TRC) is organizing the 2nd annual Tryon Half Marathon set to take place on Saturday, Nov.  16 at Harmon Field.

A portion of the race proceeds will benefit Thermal Belt Outreach Ministry to support its Feed-a-Kid and utility bill assistance programs. Like last year, Mike Ashworth of Wells Fargo Advisors of Tryon is the lead sponsor for the event.

At the inaugural race, organizers of the Tryon Half Marathon initially estimated 100 racers, but were surprised at the level of participation with 180 runners crossing the finish line. TRC anticipates even higher numbers this year as the feedback from runners last year was so positive.
