Published 6:20 pm Wednesday, June 5, 2013

The TDDA sponsored Tryon Gallery Trot is proud to offer “Family Fun Night!” on June 8 from 5-8 p.m.

The season is well underway and with the help of an events grant from the Polk County Community Foundation (PCCF), free horse drawn carriage rides (Carolina Carriage Properties) will be offered. Live street performer Kevin Bradley, aka “Juggling Kevin,” will also be on hand to entertain up and down Trade Street. The carriage rides will go from Ola Mae Way, to St. Luke’s Plaza.

A grant from the Mary Kessler Fund through the PCCF also provides for well known family entertainers Phil and Gaye Johnson to perform. Come and enjoy folk, bluegrass and old time mountain music from the Carolina Blue Ridge and beyond in the center of town! Terra on Trade continues to offer their children’s art tent, adding to the family friendly atmosphere in downtown.

Something new for the Trots will be an “Art Tasting;” several pop up displays will be set up in the St. Luke’s Plaza area for businesses who participate in the Trot, but are a good bit off of Trade St.; Tryon Arts and Crafts, Saluda Forge and Tryon Fine Arts Center have each signed on. Each group will have examples of their art for sale and some of the artists will be on hand to discuss their works.
