Over 15 acres of five varietals (Cabernet Sauvignon, Cab Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Petit Manseng) are grown on the estate and more varieties  are purchased from local growers.

This Sunday, May 19, Overmountain Vineyards and Winery will host Slow,  Food Foothills second annual spring fundraiser from 4-8 p.m. Tickets are still available and can be purchased online at www.brownpapertickets.com, at La Bouteille in Tryon or at Overmountain Vineyards.

Slow Food is a global, grassroots organization with members in 150 countries and 1,300 volunteer-led chapters around the world. The organization was founded in 1989 to counter the rise of fast global programs and campaigns to pursue our vision of a world where everyone can enjoy food and the disappearance of local food cultures. Today, we coordinate local, national and food that is good for us, good for farmers and workers, and good for the planet.
