With spring in full swing and the weather beginning to warm up, now is the perfect time to take to the outdoors for some fun and exercise. The Unity in the Community Organization invites you to join them at Pound the Pavement, a day of fun and fitness.

There are some who may not be able to afford a gym membership and there are those may be intimated, embarrassed, or simply just don’t like the gym atmosphere. One option is to exercise while enjoying the great outdoors this spring and summer.

Unlike the other organized races, Pound the Pavement is unofficial and designed simply to encourage everyone to exercise, while incorporating friendly competition. A medal will be awarded to the top three of each age category who walks the most laps on the track, within a 3.5-hour period. The age categories are 0-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70-plus.
