During the historic 20th anniversary of the USMC Mud Run held in Columbia, S.C. on April 27, a local team took first place honors in the All-Female Division. Team No. 109, consisting of Mandy Wolfe, Lori Geddings, Ellen Seagle and Mary Mujica, conquered a 6.2-mile all-terrain course with 36 military obstacles, which included walls, trenches and mud holes. Team members had to work together to strategically maneuver through each obstacle, which involved climbing, swimming, crawling or jumping. “We had practiced course attack and execution and we were very pleased with the results,” Wolfe said. This biannual event raises money, awareness and support for marines, veterans and their families across the nation who have been wounded or killed while serving on active duty.
