March is American Red Cross Month

March is American Red Cross Month, and to pay tribute to ARC month, the Polk County Chapter invites you to donate blood at one of two upcoming blood drives.
After 130 years of providing humanitarian relief all over the world, the ARC continues the compassion and generosity which is core to our American identity and spirit. Today’s economic conditions make it difficult to include charitable giving in our individual budgets, but a donation of blood offers every individual the chance to give the most precious gift there is – a gift that costs the donor no money, just an hour of time.
Current blood donation opportunities in Polk County are:
Monday, March 18,
12:30 – 5 p.m.
Holy Cross Episcopal Church
150 Melrose Ave., Tryon
Thursday, April 25, 2 – 6:30 p.m.
American Red Cross Chapter
231 Ward St., Columbus
To make an appointment to give blood, call 1-800-733-2767, or visit redcrossblood.org, or call the Polk County office at 894-2700. Give a gift that only you can give. The need for blood is constant, and a pint of blood can save up to three lives.
