Carter Thumm and Cayden Herr, students in Mrs. Maneen’s third-grade class at Saluda School, use whisper phones to practice reading skills and fluency. The Toobaloo phones, provided through a grant from the Polk County Community Foundation, allow students to hear the sound of their voice amplified through the earpiece. The students are thrilled to use the phones to improve their reading skills. (photo submitted by Cari Maneen)
