Carol King was the guest speaker at a recent meeting of the Rotary Club of Tryon. King served as district governor of the western North Carolina District of Rotary International in 2009-2010. She presented an update to the Rotarians on the important work of the Rotary Foundation, a not-for-profit corporation supported solely by voluntary contributions from Rotarians and friends of the Foundation whose mission is to enable Rotarians to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education, and the alleviation of poverty. Jerry Atkins arranged the program. Pictured is Rotary Club of Tryon President Carol Jackson along with King and Atkins. (photo submitted by Bill Hillhouse)
