Polk County High School volleyball camp set for June 13-15

Polk County High School volleyball coaches Heather Claussen and Craig Claussen plan to host the 2012 Polk County Volleyball Camp June 13-15. The camp will be held for girls in third through ninth grades at the high school.
Third through sixth grades will participate from 9:30-11:30 a.m., while seventh through ninth grade students will attend from noon until 2:30 p.m. Participants who register by June 1 will receive a discount. Heather Claussen is the head varsity volleyball coach at Polk County High School.
Coach Claussen was an NCCAA First Team All-American setter at Mid America Nazarene University and was a three-year captain on her team. She also received NAIA All-Region and Scholar-Athlete recognition. Since being at Polk, Coach Claussen has received WHC Coach of the Year in 2008, 2010 and 2011, as well as Times-News All-Area Coach of the year in 2011.
Coach Craig Claussen “MC” is in his fourth year as the assistant varsity coach at PCHS. “MC” ran track and cross country at Denison University. He plays an active role in the strength and conditioning of the players, as well as the scouting of opponents. In 2008 Polk County won their first conference title following with a co-conference win in 2009. In 2010 the Wolverines won the district championship.
