Polk district court results
In Polk County District Court held Wednesday, April 11 with Judge Pete Knight presiding, 83 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court.
The following persons were convicted of a crime (names are given as they appear in court records):
Keith Alan Batchelder was convicted of littering a gameland/access area. Batchelder was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, a $25 fine and court costs.
Dale Bradley Jr. was convicted of possession of marijuana up to ½ ounce. Bradley was sentenced to 24 hours of community service and court costs.
Steven Allen Brogdon was convicted of speeding 60 mph in a 55 mph zone. Brogdon was fined $20 and court costs.
Antonio Chavez was convicted of failure to wear hunter orange and attempt to take deer during closed season. Chavez was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, a $35 fine and court costs.
Jawrell William Cook was convicted of speeding 90 mph in a 65 mph zone. Cook was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, a $90 fine and court costs.
William Mark Covil Jr. was convicted of level 2 driving while impaired, level 5 driving while impaired, failure to heed light or siren and fleeing/eluding arrest with a motor vehicle. On the level 2 driving while impaired charge, Covil was sentenced to 18 months supervised probation, seven days in jail, a $150 fine and court costs. On the level 5 driving while impaired charge, he was sentenced to 18 months supervised probation, 24 hours of community service and court costs. He was sentenced to two years supervised probation and court costs for failure to heed light or siren and fleeing/eluding arrest with a motor vehicle.
Steven Michael Davis was convicted of failure to appear on misdemeanor. Davis was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, a $100 fine and court costs.
Robert Leon Easterly was convicted of speeding 92 mph in a 65 mph zone. Easterly was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, a $92 fine and court costs.
Evan W. Grenda was convicted of speeding 90 mph in a 65 mph zone. Grenda was fined $90 and court costs.
David Robert Kelson was convicted of speeding 64 mph in a 55 mph zone. Kelson was fined $30 and court costs.
Ivan Misyuk was convicted of possession of marijuana up to ½ ounce and possession of malt beverage/unfortified wine while not 19 or 20 years old. Misyuk was sentenced to 24 hours of community service and court costs for possession of marijuana and two days in jail with credit for time served for possession of malt beverage/unfortified wine.
Sujalbhai D. Patel was convicted of speeding 74 mph in a 65 mph zone. Patel was fined $30 and court costs.
Derrick Rodgers was convicted of level 5 driving while impaired commercial vehicle, speeding 75 mph in a 55 mph zone and designated lane violation. Rodgers was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, 24 hours of community service, a $100 fine and court costs for driving while impaired and one year unsupervised probation and court costs for speeding and designated lane violation.
Richard James Taylor was convicted of failure to appear on misdemeanor and driving while license revoked. Taylor was sentenced to 14 days in jail with credit for 10 days.
