Old soldiers, Fred Clas, 90, of Schenectady, N.Y. and local resident, Howard Greene, 93, met for the first time at Stott’s Ford’s Mustang Show at the Tryon April Fool’s Festival. The two men said they had a great time sharing WWII stories and experiences. Meanwhile the following car owners placed in the mustang show: first place went to 2005 Boss 302 Mustang, “Yeller,” a convertible owned by Tommy Melton of Columbus; second place went to the 2011 red Roush convertible owned by Bill Robinson of Landrum; and third place went to the 1966 baby blue Mustang convertible owned by Christie Heuman of Tryon.
