The Butt Pickers kids team crosses the finish line in first place in the children’s division of the outhouse race during the Fool’s Day Festival on Saturday, March 31 in downtown Tryon. Team members were Madi Siegfried, Samantha Metcalf, Shea Wheeler, Rayven Yoder and Caitlin Britton. The streets were festooned with strings of neckties as a foolish decoration for the festival, which was first held in 2006. This year’s event also included  games, music, food and other activities in the Tryon Depot plaza, as well as a TP (toilet paper) race, a dog food stroller race, a parade, a Trashion show, a music jam and a masquerade ball.
